Beginner List Building - Do You Take it Personal When People Unsubscribe?

As an Internet marketing beginner, it can be disheartening when you get a few unsubscribers while building your list. You might take it personal and start obsessing about what you might have done wrong.
How do you deal with such feelings of rejection and self-doubt?
Here is a powerful quote to help you:
"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." ~Wayne Dyer
Put yourself in your subscribers' shoes for a moment.
Have you ever opted in because you were curious about an offering...found out you weren't interested or it wasn't what you expected...and unsubscribed?
Have you ever opted in to get a free offer (eBook, etc.)...downloaded your free offer...and then unsubscribed because all you wanted was the free offer?
Have you ever opted in because you were genuinely interested at the time...changed your mind or changed your focus over time...and unsubscribed?
The point is that people unsubscribe for a wide variety of reasons...many having nothing to do with you.
Yes, it could be your fault...bombarding them with offers, etc. However, as you can see, there are many other possible reasons.
If you focus on the big picture, you will realize that unsubscribers could actually be a good thing for you.
Most would probably not buy anything from you. Furthermore, over time, you will end up with a targeted list of loyal subscribers instead of a huge list full of unresponsive subscribers.
Stop taking it personal...it's not always about you. To win in list building, you must be willing to lose a few subscribers.
